SERVICES AT KNOTS
hot stone massage

Hot stone massage works by placing smooth, heated stones on specific points of the body to warm and loosen tight muscles. The stones are typically made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat well. The therapist may also use the stones to massage the muscles, applying gentle pressure to release tension and knots. The heat from the stones also has a therapeutic effect, as it stimulates blood flow and encourages the muscles to relax. This can help to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote an overall sense of relaxation.

Benefits include relief from pain and tension as the heat from the stones penetrates deep into the muscle. Improved circulation as the body is encouraging the lymphatic system to release and flush out any toxins the body may be holding onto. Reduce stress and anxiety by calming your neurological system. Increase and improve the quality of your sleep.

Hot stone massage is not suitable for those who are pregnant. If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease please consult with your family physician prior to booking your appointment. If you have eczema or psoriasis this may aggravative the issue causing an inflammatory response.

To help you book the perfect amount of time, we recommend considering which part of the body you're looking to treat:

  • 30 minutes for the back only

  • 45 minutes for the back + legs only

  • 60+ minutes for the full body
